Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
