Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has asked the family of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

The president said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to aid public safety in Washington DC.

“Sarah was the individual that educators hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the press. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to help others.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.
